YoGeek Presentation-The Yoga of Empowerment for Girls by Elsie Escobar

Using Yoga To Empower Young Women

I am currently working with the Carnegie Science Center: Girls Math and Science Partnership developing an 8 session virtual video yoga program to begin to introduce yoga as a tool for young women with a focus on the scientific qualities of this ancient practice.

This is the first commissioned series under my YoGeek brand, the sweet blend of yoga and technology that I adore 🙂

If I would have had yoga in my life, or at least a beginning introduction to yoga in my life, I’m not sure that I would have made the mistakes that I made in my youth. Particularly those mistakes that stemmed from mis-aligned self esteem. I say mis-aligned because it’s not true that I lacked in self esteem, but I certainly did NOT recognize my own worth.

I’ll be sharing bits and pieces of my YoGeek work here with you guys as I develop and produce it. Perhaps it will also serve those that are not necessarily ‘young women.’

The following video is the 11 minute presentation which opened up my first official YoGeek series.

I get personal, and I speak about things that I haven’t really shared with you guys before. Take a look. I’d love to get your feedback!

Also, if you are interested in using this video in any way, specifically to inspire young people, please let me know. I’d be happy to provide the slides and audio for the presentation!

If you do find this helpful, share it. The more those that need to relish in this information and begin the process of recognizing their worth, the better we’ll all be!

This is going to be awesome – I can feel it. I like what you’ve given them, the little seeds of possibility. I can’t wait to see what happens with your new adventure.

Oh no!

The video stopped? Boo. I’ll see if I can upload the video/audio for download. I do have the whole series of small audio classes. I’m wondering what the best offering of the classes will be 🙂 It was such a joy to do this job!
